Allium cepa variant aggregatum, aka Potato onion. Forms a cluster of irregular shape of underground bulbs. Some bulbs may be 2 to 3" in diameter, but most are small. Thick skin, color - orangish yellow.

Culture;

Rare to produce seeds, propagated by the small bulbs. A strong bulb will form smaller bulbs, each with a leafy top. A weak bulb will usually produce a single large bulb. Space 4 - 6" to allow for clumps. Planted September - March in FL.

Use;

Harvest as bulbs are large enough for eating. Mature green onions can be used fresh like any type of bunch onion. Cook mature bulbs after removing the outer skin.
